Today we were in transit again. In our Yaris back to Sydney. A small time constraint reared its head when we drove onto the “Great Western Highway” as they call it here. A bold “no cash at toll” sign threw a small curve ball (we didn’t have the required e-tag) so we took a detour through the Burbs. This brought on a flurry of swearwords from my husband. Needless to say the delay put us under some stress as we made a runner for the holiday queues.
Perth is hotter than hell. A balmy 35 degrees in the shade we had a warm welcome from Jurgen and Miree – ex South Africans now living in Oz. In no time Jurgen had us in his air-conditioned car and we were on our way to Margaret River – a small beach town popular for its wine region and beautiful beaches.
